Wiim Home

WiiM's Icelandic storefront.

Overview

Wiim Home is the Icelandic storefront for WiiM, premium streaming hardware previously available only through scattered retail. The site brings the catalogue, cart and checkout into a single brand surface, with bank transfer as the payment method and Icelandic-language customer service. An admin dashboard handles orders, and content was migrated from the legacy site via import scripts.

Problem

WiiM had no presence of its own in Iceland. The products were scattered across resellers with no consistent ISK pricing or domestic payment flow, and no single owner of Icelandic-language customer service. The brand experience ended where each individual reseller's storefront began.

Approach

A standalone storefront on with underneath: the catalogue lives in , images in Storage, orders and service through an admin area. The payment method is bank transfer, simpler for the local market than card processing, and confirmations run through Resend with Icelandic-first templates. Bilingual routing through `[locale]` keeps Icelandic and English side by side without interface duplication, and content from the legacy site is migrated via import scripts that run once and leave a clean schema behind.

Outcome

WiiM now has a single Icelandic surface that consolidates catalogue, sales and customer service in Icelandic, built on top of the legacy content and ready to grow past it. Orders live in one system, customer correspondence runs through Resend with delivery tracking, and the catalogue is editor-tunable with no developer involvement.
